Auburn Wedding Cake
I am so torn about posting this because I have a shameful secret. I love Auburn.
I know, I know, this is SUCH a crisis because I also live and breath the South Carolina Gamecocks. Like a good South Carolina girl growing up I loved my Gamecocks. I even spent a year after college running the store inside the football stadium. Steve Spurrier knew who I was. Okay, let’sbe honest. He knew who I was because he often saw me schlepping piles of t-shirts through the stadium corridors on non-game days and promised he’d “make ’em win this one so we can sell those t-shirts”. It was 2006…his first season with the Gamecocks…so basically he lied. Had he seen me on the street without lugging 45,000 t-shirts on a huge dolly cart he probably wouldn’t have looked in my direction. So in that respect Steve Spurrier “knew” who I was.
Anyway, this post is about Auburn. Every summer from the time I was 11 to the time I was 12 (ha) I went to gymnastics camp at Auburn University. I knew I was supposed to hate them — even then — but on the inside I loved them. I wanted to be one of them. So here is my homage to Auburn. This fantastic Auburn Wedding Cake. This is a five-tier square cake design featuring the tiger stripes and the tiger paw mascots as well as a few shots of Jordan-Hare Stadium.
