Disney Princess and Castle Cake
I have to admit that having a full time job, a full time toddler, a husband, a dog, cat and an obsession to blog about cake doesn’t give me much free time to sit down and watch television. Except today I found a spare twenty minutes and I was thrilled to sit down in my big chair and do nothing but watch television. My problem…no remote. Oh well, there was NO way I was moving. Luckily it was stuck on TLC and I was privileged enough to watch my first episode of Cake Boss. And not only was it a show about cake..but a show about making a Disney themed cake..AT Disney World. Hello, fate it’s time we met. (Sidebar: The fact that Buddy spent twenty minutes calling it Dis-a-knee World made me want to smooch him. I don’t hear many Jersey accents in South Carolina).
The jist of the show was that Buddy & his team where visiting WDW for the Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival. While they were visiting it was also his 6 year old daughter, Sophia’s, birthday. So she batted her pretty little eyeballs and asked Daddy to make her a castle cake with all the princesses. Without a cake pan to his name (he was on vacation after all) he put Disney magic to work and came up with this gorgeous castle cake. So it’s not exactly a wedding cake, but I thought it would be appropriate for Disney Brides-to-be. The cake features the famous Cinderella Castle with Jasmine, Belle, Ariel and Mulan all hanging around for a visit. These were Princess Sophia’s favorite princesses. Hence why Cinderella was excluded from the party at her own castle. The scary part is from far away you could probably mistake this cake for the real castle!
