Since we are just days away from the “official” start of the summer season (Memorial Day!), I wanted to find a cake that featured bright and vibrant colors that remind me of summer.

I think this cake fits the bill.

It’s a rather bold choice if you think about it. There is nothing dull or understated about a neon colored wedding cake. It’s all about grabbing your guests’ attention and not letting go.

This cake is from Sugarblossoms Cakes in Australia and features hand-dyed fondant wrapped around each tier. The bright pink flowers were created with gumpaste and attached to the cake for an even brighter effect.

I love the idea of using colors that aren’t traditional wedding colors for your cake – and this bright, neon cake is about as non-traditional as you can get with colors.
