Butterfly Wedding Cake
This cake is so simple, yet so beautiful. Smooth frosting accented with bright butterflies flying up to a birds’ nest. The natural feel of the cake extends to the “cake stand,” a wood round that was harvested by the groom and his father!
The cake was inspired by Martha Stewart’s butterfly wedding cake, and is Read More
Airstream Wedding Cake
In one of my favorite theme weddings ever, this cake — and the whole wedding, actually — paid homage to all things fun and quirky. The bride wore a deep pink dress; the desserts included multicolored cupcakes sporting plastic butterflies, pinwheels, and kazoos; and the whole thing was done up in neon!
This cake, proclaiming that the couple is getting hitched, takes the pun a step further with a tiny Airstream trailer surrounded by — what else? Pink flamingos!
This is for the brides who don’t take themselves too seriously 😉
Zip-a-dee-doh-dah..A Splash Mountain Wedding Cake!
My oh my what a wonderful cake!
Last week Disney’s Ever After Wedding Blog featured this Splash Mountain Cake on Wedding Cake Wednesday. This cake is a replica of the popular Disneyland and Walt Disney World attraction featuring two tiers, chocolate logs and a fondant waterfall. I could be wrong but it looks like Read More
Let Them Eat Cake: Sunday Round-Up for February 6, 2011
Dreary, dreary, dreary. As we cross over that period of winter when we think we’re never going to have warm weather again, and into the hope that surely, spring is just around the corner, we at AWCB can’t think of anything that cheers us up better or faster than a towering confection of sugary love and Read More
Cupcakes…Glorious Cupcakes
We think there is nothing new under the cupcake sun…but we would be wrong. Because, while I love a good cupcake, I also love an original idea.Â
Clever Cupcakes has brought us such a beautiful display of tiny treasures that I’d just like to stare at the picture for a minute. Obviously, I think you will have the same reaction.
This tower of cupcakes is made up of no less than nine dozen of the tiny treasures! The chocolate cupcakes – YUM – are frosted with Read More
Lighthouse Wedding Cake
True story..you can make a cake look like ANYTHING. Including a lighthouse..with a slide coming out of the top and little tiny fondant members of the wedding party sliding down. I seriously scrolled through the Flickr album hoping that I could get some sort of clue HOW this wedding cake came Read More
Strawberry Wedding Cake
“Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don’t forget your booties ’cause it’s cooooold out there today….It’s Groundhog Day!!”
Name that movie..go..
Got it. Groundhog Day with Bill Murray. A favorite of mine that I had never seen until a few years ago. Another fun Groundhog day fact…it’s not called “Groundhog’s Day” which I called it oh..my entire life. It’s singular as in one wee groundhog. Since Punxsatawney Phil did not see his shadow today (he must of gotten Read More
Oh, Brooke Davis you looked beautiful on your wedding day…
After eight seasons of stabbings, shootings, adopted/foster children, violent attacks, numerous boyfriends and a failed multi-million dollar company Brooke Davis finally got married tonight. Are you confused?
Brooke Davis (a.k.a Sophia Bush) from One Tree Hill on The CW. Am I the only person left in America who still cares? Maybe..however, judge me if you must because it has been years in the making. I’ve spent the past six years of my life tuned in once a week to watch the Read More

Tiffany’s Wedding Cake
After a long weekend filled with work, work and oh..more work I want to start this week off right. With a little quote of inspiration from one Holly Golightly.
“Well, when I get it the only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany’s. Calms me down right away. The quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there. If I could find a real-life place that’d make me feel like Tiffany’s, then – then I’d buy some furniture and give the cat a name!”
I have to agree. There is something about Tiffany’s and their signature Robin’s Read More
