Fun Wedding Favors – Starfish Bookmark
I just spent a week at the beach and one of the best parts of the trip was sitting under a beach umbrella reading a great book.
It’s the simple pleasures, you know.
Which brings me to today’s fun wedding favor for your beach destination wedding – the starfish bookmark.
If you’re planning a destination wedding that just happens to be near a beach it’s a good bet some of your guests might be bringing the latest summer best seller with them. Read More
Wedding Cake with Succulents and Flowers
As much as I love wedding cakes with sugar flowers, I also love wedding cakes that feature real flowers and plants.
Just like this cake with succulents.
I love the understated elegance of the cake and the use of succulents just adds to that elegance.
I have to admit as much as I love bright flowers on cake I also love when brides forgo that bright pop of color for something a bit more understated. Read More
Whimsical Wedding Cake
I’m always on the lookout for totally unique and somewhat out-of-this-world wedding cakes.
Why? Because sometimes that “traditional” wedding cake just won’t do it.
Which is why I’m head over heels for today’s cake. I present to you the “West End” cake from our friends at Hockleys Cakes over in the United Kingdom.
This stunning creation has so much going on, but it’s not overwhelming in any way. In fact, it all just works. Read More
Wedding Cake with Sand Dollars
As we inch closer and closer to summer vacation I find myself dreaming of the beach.
I want to walk in the sand and listen to the waves crash…
But first I want to share this very modern and fun beach-themed wedding cake with you!
I absolutely love this cake and it’s because of the sand dollars. I used to search for sand dollars on the beach as a kid and they’ve always been my favorite beach “treasure.” Read More
Chocolate Roses Wedding Cake
I love roses, which means this cake is quite possibly my favorite cake in a very long time.
This cake is another incredible creation by our friends at Hockleys Cakes in the United Kingdom and it’s gorgeous!
Called the ‘Aphrodite,’ the cake is a vision of pink and white roses.
The three-tier cake is covered in 180 chocolate roses in addition to pink sugar roses. And it’s all hand-crafted.
Not only is this cake a stunner, but…180 chocolate roses! That is a lot of chocolate. If you’re a chocolate fan this is definitely the cake for you.
I love the subtly of the white chocolate roses and the bright color pop from the pink sugar roses. It would be such a lovely cake at a spring or summer wedding, especially if you were incorporating roses into your floral theme.
Many thanks to our friends at Hockleys for sharing this creation with us.

I don’t know about you but I am celebrating the fact that summer is “unofficially” here to stay. The sun is shining, the temperatures are warm, and all I can think about is the beach and palm trees.
Which brings me to today’s fun wedding favor – the palm tree favor box.
These are absolutely perfect for your beach themed wedding – or even for your beach destination wedding. Read More
Pink Dots Wedding Cake
I’m quickly becoming a fan of pink wedding cakes, and this cake covered with tiny pink dots is one of my new favorites.
This four-tier cake is so pretty and delicate, but also fun and whimsical with all those tiny dots in varying shades.
Our friends at Hockleys Cakes in the United Kingdom created this lovely cake (called the “Carnaby”) and it took them eight hours (yes, 8 hours!) to hand pipe the dots onto the icing. Read More
Ribbon Wrapped Wedding Cake
I’ve been showcasing quite a few showstopping (and rather large) wedding cakes lately, so today I wanted to go smaller.
Much smaller. Like a two-tier wedding cake for a small wedding.
I love this cake wrapped with gold ribbon. It’s so pretty and elegant and if you’re planning a small wedding, you still need to have a gorgeous cake. Read More
