Seafood-Themed Groom’s Cake
I love the idea of a groom’s cake – a fun and delicious dessert that reflects your groom’s personality or is inspired by his hobbies.
And yes, every time I think about a groom’s cake I’m reminded of the red velvet armadillo cake with gray icing from the 80s hit movie Steel Magnolias.
However, today we’re talking about a visually pleasing, fun groom’s cake! Read More
Beach-inspired White Wedding Cake
Now that we are officially celebrating all things summer, our thoughts turn to beaches and summer weddings.
Which brings me to today’s beach-y wedding cake, complete with adorable mini Adirondak chairs as the cake topper.
I love the stark simplicity of the white fondant icing – it really creates a perfect palette to create lovely cake-scapes.
But what makes this cake perfect for your summer beach wedding are the incredible decorations. Read More
‘Finding Nemo’ Wedding Cake
We found Nemo and he’s on a wedding cake!
This amazing three-tier novelty wedding cake is a creation from Hockleys Cakes located in the United Kingdom.
They are specialists in the wedding cake biz across the pond and I am loving their designs and can’t wait to feature more in the weeks to come.
But right now let’s talk about this Nemo wedding cake because it’s just amazing!
This novelty wedding cake features an undersea scene complete with Nemo, Crush the totally cool sea turtle, and of course the bride and groom are sitting atop the cake under a palm tree. I think I even spy Sebastian hanging out by the coral in the middle tier! Read More

But this cake is simply GORG! I mean, it’s not enough that it has SEASHELLS…but it’s OMBRE TOO! And sand-colored at that. Friends joke sometimes that my signature color is khaki, so you know I’m diggin’ that background. But that’s not all there is to the adorableness…the Read More
Beach Wedding Cake
Isn’t this always how it goes.
In August I was tired of sweat behind my knees 14 hours a day and ready for the cool breeze of fall. By the time November rolled around I was ready for Thanksgiving to be finished so that I could kick off the Christmas season. Now that it’s January and the days. seem. to. take. forever. I can’t wait until it’s beach season.
Yes, I did skip right over spring because that’s what South Carolina does. 50 degrees and gloomy one day…75 and gorgeous the next.
Here it is in January. MLK Holiday has passed and minus a teacher work day or two I am in that awful Jan/Feb/March OH MY Read More
