Modern Stenciled Wedding Cake
Sometimes when I'm looking for wedding cakes it's all flowers and embellishments. But every now and then I find a cake where simplicity is what makes it gorgeous.
This is one of those cakes.
It's your basic, run-of-the-mill five tier white cake. And on its own that would be a stunning cake and you could add some fresh flowers to make it really pop. And you'd have a pretty but basic wedding cake.
I love this cake for the simple fact that it goes beyond the flowers with a brightly hued glaze in between each layer. Read More
Flashback Friday: Marcia Cross and Tom Mahoney’s Wedding Cake
It's Friday again and that means we're heading back in time to check out another fabulous celebrity wedding cake.
This week's cake is a towering creation, but it's also very beautiful and floral.
When actress Marcia Cross (Desperate Housewives) married Tom Mahoney in 2006, she reportedly invited some friends to a cake tasting to help her choose the cake flavors. This is a genius idea, although my husband was more than happy to be part of our cake tasting. Read More
Summertime Lemon Blueberry Wedding Cake
It's official. The end of summer is here and now it's time to start dreaming of fall colors and flavors.
But, before we let summer out of our grasp, I had to share one more summertime-inspired cake with you.
Behold, the lemon and blueberry wedding cake. Isn't it stunning?
I love the square tiers and how the frosting design has a slight basket weave look to it. Read More
Flashback Friday: Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s Wedding Cake
This week’s flashback cake takes us all the way back to July 23, 1986 when Prince Andrew married Sarah Ferguson, who became known as Her Royal Highness The Duchess of York, Countess of Inverness, Baroness of Killyleagh, and Princess of the United Kingdom.
Or we can just call her ‘Fergie’ like everyone else does.
I always liked this royal couple – they seemed a bit more down to earth than Charles and Diana, sort of like an old school William and Catherine – and I was a bit sad when they divorced in 1996.
But maybe you’ve heard the news this week that Prince Andrew and Fergie are possibly reuniting and rekindling their romance! Read More
White Chocolate Leaves Wedding Cake
There must be something in the air this week as I’m still slightly obsessing over all things fall.
And while this cake would look great at any time of year – but would look amazing in the fall – I had to share it with you.
I found this cake while searching “DIY decorations” and perhaps a DIY wedding is not in the cards for you. However, I’m sure your baker could create some lovely leaves to wrap around your wedding cake. Read More
Apple Wedding Cake
As I drove around town today I noticed some leaves starting to change color. This can only mean one thing – fall is right around the corner!
Fall is the best season in my humble opinion because fall means apples. Lots and lots of juicy and delicious apples.
So take a peek at this cake and tell me how perfect it would look at a fall wedding. It's just amazingly simple and gorgeous. Read More
Flashback Friday – Elizabeth Banks and Max Handleman’s Wedding Cake
This week we're flashing back an entire decade to check out this lovely little cake from 2003.
When actress Elizabeth Banks married her beau Max Handleman at the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills they reportedly read love letters from their first year of dating rather than reciting vows.
Now if that isn't romantic enough, one look at their simple yet beautiful wedding cake and you know this was a spectacular affair. Read More
Marble Chocolate and Mocha Wedding Cake
Chocolate and coffee – is there anything better than these two flavors? I think not.
Which is why I just had to feature this cake today – it's a marble chocolate and mocha cake with a marbleized fondant. It's such a pretty – and unique – cake that I couldn't resist sharing it with you!
The four-tiered cake features alternate layers of chocolate marble and mocha marble. And as good as chocolate and coffee are as separate flavors, you know when they're combined to make mocha it's that much better! Read More

I don't know about you, but I always get a kick out of what wedding guests get to take home as favors. I've seen M&Ms, Jordan almonds, pencils, and small boxes of chocolate. But I've never seen something as cute as these bride and groom pretzel rods.
Don't you just love these wedding favors? They're so original and whimsical that your guests will definitely love to take them home. Read More
