Since it seems like Mother Nature finally has her act together and has allowed spring to stay for a while, what better way to celebrate a wedding than this stunner of a cake? I feel all springy just looking at it.

Gerbera Daisy Wedding Cake
I’m all about rushing the seasons. But you knew this.
Since today is March 1, clearly it’s time for a post all about spring-into-summer, yes?
And what says spring-into-summer better than fresh strawberries and big, boldly colored gerbera daisies? Right. Nothing.

Hawaiian Honeymoon Suitcase Wedding Cake
Hola, Everyone! And Happy New Year!
I know we’ve been a little…well…MIA of late. There was sickness involved. And perhaps an impromptu in law visit (don’t worry; it was a pleasure.) And there might be a thing or two besides writing about pretty cakes that I do to bring in the dollars here.
There. I said it.
But anyway! I’m back! And Read More

Orange and Magenta Scroll Wedding Cake
This wedding cake is like coffee! Isn’t it?
What do I mean? It’s an instant wake up!
I love it. Really really REALLY. Not only is it replete with the world’s happiest flower, the DAISY, but the perfect scrollwork in two of the poppiest of colors, bright orange and magenta, make me want to dance. Or twirl. Or hula hoop. Or maybe all of the above. It’s kinda like a really fun twist on the hot trend of ombre, don’t you think?
I have no idea who made this cake, sadly, so if you do, please, speak up and let us know. In the meantime, enjoy it. Enjoy it like you enjoy a good summer party in your prettiest dress.

Coral and Blue Nautical Wedding Cake
I love sweet and simple. And today’s cake is just that!
Cake Goodness in California is the bakery behind this sweet nautical-themed cake, which was featured on Style Me Pretty, and was captured by Shannon Lee Images. And I have to say that I love how they incorporated so much into such a little cake! This cake was for a beach wedding in Malibu – hello dream wedding location! – and as the wedding incorporated nautical elements, it was important to carry the theme through to the cake. The blue and white stripes on the lower tier evoke that beach club, nautical feel, and the fondant rope around the base of the top tier really completes the look. But they took it one step further and “iced” it with a cake stand that incorporated a blue and white striped ribbon. I also love how they stepped out of the traditional yellow and blue nautical color scheme and went with blue and coral. The coral dahlia on top is fun and unique and sweet! And I love that they incorporated their monogram on the top tier.
To sum it up pretty much everything about this cake is perfect!

Nautical Mini Wedding Cakes
Adorable! That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw these Mini Wedding Cakes on Pinterest.
I have a slight obsession with miniature baked goods…I’m not sure if it makes me feel less guilty about eating something “unhealthy” or if I just like the idea of miniature things. Either way I love mini cakes, mini cupcakes, cake pops (they may not be miniature but they are small), and petit fours. And while most miniature goodies are not decorated elaborately today’s featured minis are incredible! The attention to detail is amazing…I mean look at the rope border on the tiers of the cake, the bronze anchor, the flowers, and the stripes! Can you imagine the time it took to perfect the details and make these look so good?
In my opinion these mini wedding cakes would be perfect for a dessert table or even as a wedding favor…but we want to know what you think about the whole mini cake idea?
If you love the nautical look of these mini cakes, check out this nautical wedding cake and this nautical cake topper we have featured!
Thanks, too, to our good friend Beth from Cakes by Beth for letting us know that these are the splendid work of The Caketress of Toronto!

Rainbow Cake Ball Wedding Cake
We love Cake Wrecks. If you want to laugh hysterically (and sometimes, it’s at people, and not with them), then be sure to check out this awesome website.
However, we’ve never linked to them, because, well, usually they’re highlighting all that is hysterically wrong with cake. But then every so often, they show us beautiful cakes, and all is right with the world again.
I just fell in love with this rainbow cake ball wedding cake. Cake balls (yes, we realize it’s kind of a funny term) – not to be confused with cake pops. First, these are different sizes, and all are much bigger Read More

Indian-Inspired Red and Gold Wedding Cake
We love a little pop of color in a wedding, and this one was just incredible.
Jenny and Aashish sought to bring together her Midwestern background with his Indian heritage, and the result was one of the most stunning weddings I’ve ever seen. Of course, I’m a sucker for cranberry red, so that might be part of it…I would TOTALLY wear that bridesmaid,s dress again.
But of course, the cake is the star of OUR show. And the cranberry red shows up here, too. Three simple layers, decorated with a mehndi-inspired paisley motif in gold, trimmed with cranberry red ribbon, and topped with a few Read More

Miniature 3D Wedding Cake
What do you do when you’re having a small wedding, or if you’re eloping? Do you forego the cake altogether? Well, you don’t have to.
I thought this cake was adorable at first glance. I think my favorite thing about it is the “mixed media.” The artist paints a floral motif, but then pipes some stems in a matching green for emphasis. She paints flowers, but then affixes fondant flowers as well. The combination of the painting and the piping and fondant work Read More
