Daisy Wedding Cake

DaisyChain.jpg.rendition.largest

I have mentioned my love of daisies before, and since we're in the middle of the week I thought I'd share a cheery and happy daisy wedding cake again.

You can't look at daisies and not feel happy inside, so they're really a perfect flower to feature on a wedding cake. Everyone at a wedding is already smiling from ear to ear, so why not keep the happy theme going with your cake? Read More

Daisy Wedding Cake

600x600_1314228141623-Sofia

I absolutely love daisies – they're such a cheerful flower! And as soon as I saw this cake, I fell in love with it because it's so cute and whimsical.

This cake would be perfect for a spring or summer wedding, especially if your color palette included pastels. I love that the flowers aren't just light pinks and purples, but also include the bright yellow, green, and blue. Those really makes the cake pop with color.

Imagine how amazing this cake would look at an outdoor wedding! And since daisies are the world's happiest flowers, you can't help but smile when you see it.

This cake was created by Charm City Cakes West. Check them out here.

Orange and Magenta Scroll Wedding Cake

orange and magenta wedding cake

This wedding cake is like coffee!  Isn’t it?

What do I mean?  It’s an instant wake up!

I love it.  Really really REALLY.  Not only is it replete with the world’s happiest flower, the DAISY, but the perfect scrollwork in two of the poppiest of colors, bright orange and magenta, make me want to dance.  Or twirl.  Or hula hoop.  Or maybe all of the above.  It’s kinda like a really fun twist on the hot trend of ombre, don’t you think?

I have no idea who made this cake, sadly, so if you do, please, speak up and let us know.  In the meantime, enjoy it.  Enjoy it like you enjoy a good summer party in your prettiest dress.

Let Them Eat Cake: Sunday Round-Up for May 27, 2012

Daisy Wedding Cake

Happy Unofficial Start to the Summer Season, Y’all!

Do you wish people a Happy Memorial Day?  I mean, it kinda seems like a contradiction in terms.  When I was growing, up, Memorial Day was less about partying, and more about remembering.  I guess I’m happy with a hybrid of both:  do a spot of remembering, and then go honor those we love and miss, and others that gave all for our freedom, by enjoying some of that freedom and leisure.  What I don’t get?  Those pesky home improvement commercials that seem to think Read More

Summer in December: Basketweave Strawberry Cake

Basketweave strawberry cake

I’m in a contrary state of mind.

We are about to launch into the week before Christmas, and so, of course, Christen and I both have some delighful, sugar-plummy cakes planned for you.  So what better way to cleanse your brain palate than to offer you something completely off the wall today?

Yes.  It’s July in December.

I mean, we do the opposite all the time, right?  Christmas in July and all that?  Well, here’s a look at the summeriest thing I could find:  basketweave and strawberries, trimmed with ivy, with Read More

White Cake with Chocolate Scroll Work, Take Two!

Wedding at The Springdale House and Garden

You’re not dreaming. I believe it was just last week when I said that I had never seen a light cake with chocolate designs before. Well, if I had a hat I’d eat it.

It was also last week that I declared my love for hot pink gerbera daisies (again).

This week all my dreams have come true. Because here is a white
