Wedding Cake with Cascading Flowers
As we’re heading into the week of celebrating all things love and Valentine’s Day, I wanted to share a cake with you that was so romantic it would make you swoon on the spot.
I’m pretty sure this is the cake.
This gorgeous four-tier creation is from Hockleys Cakes in the United Kingdom and they call it the “Blenheim Cake.”
This cake is all about romance and flowers and love, and I adore everything about it.
I love the square tiers on this cake – I’m a big fan of non-traditional shapes when it comes to wedding cakes. (This should come as no surprise, since my wedding cake featured eight heart-shaped tiers!) I think the square tiers give it a nice, modern contemporary feel.
The gorgeous and simple white icingĀ with the pearls around each tier give this cake a dramatic and modern look.
But what I love most is the cascade of flowers down the side of the cake. The bride wanted the flowers to replicate her bouquet – which is a genius idea in my book! Hockleys created these flowers with hand crafted white, pink, and violet sugar roses and other dainty buds.
It’s incredibly romantic, don’t you think?
A big thanks to Hockleys Cakes for sharing this creation with us!

Strawberry Wedding Cake
As I continue to dream about warmer weather, today I’m sharing a strawberry wedding cake with you.
Of course we all know that strawberries are a summer fruit – if you’re from the northern half of the country, at least – but it’s never too early to start thinking about your summer wedding.
I love the whimsy and simple charm of this cake. It makes me happy just looking at it. Read More

Primrose Wedding Cake
The weather outside might be frightful, but this cake is so delightful.
Yes, we might have just “celebrated” the first full day of winter, but that just means that we have a mere 86 days until the first day of spring, so I think right now is the perfect time to start daydreaming about lovely springy flowers.
And so, I give you the primrose wedding cake.
This gorgeous four-tier cake looks like it has a garden of flowers blooming around each tier. Read More
Wedding Cake with Red Roses and Orchids
There’s just something about dark red roses that I love.
They’re dramatic. And beautiful. And they’re the perfect flower to represent all things love.
They’re also a perfect flower to adorn a lovely white wedding cake, adding both beauty and drama to the cake.
And when you add in some deep red orchids and green roses, you have an incredibly gorgeous cake. Read More
Wedding Cake with Blue Flowers
The weather in my neck of the woods is reminiscent of winter today, so I figured it was a good day to share a wedding cake that reminded me of ice and snow.
I absolutely love this cute little three-tier cake. I love the smooth icing and the fact that it’s only three tiers. Keeping it simple is a great idea when it comes to wedding cakes.
But more than the size and simplicity of the icing, I adore the dainty blue flowers. I’m not usually a fan of blue – it isn’t on my list of favorite colors. But these tiny blue daisies really made me perk up and smile. Read More
Daisy Wedding Cake
I have mentioned my love of daisies before, and since we're in the middle of the week I thought I'd share a cheery and happy daisy wedding cake again.
You can't look at daisies and not feel happy inside, so they're really a perfect flower to feature on a wedding cake. Everyone at a wedding is already smiling from ear to ear, so why not keep the happy theme going with your cake? Read More
Flashback Friday: Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s Wedding Cake
This week’s flashback cake takes us all the way back to July 23, 1986 when Prince Andrew married Sarah Ferguson, who became known as Her Royal Highness The Duchess of York, Countess of Inverness, Baroness of Killyleagh, and Princess of the United Kingdom.
Or we can just call her ‘Fergie’ like everyone else does.
I always liked this royal couple – they seemed a bit more down to earth than Charles and Diana, sort of like an old school William and Catherine – and I was a bit sad when they divorced in 1996.
But maybe you’ve heard the news this week that Prince Andrew and Fergie are possibly reuniting and rekindling their romance! Read More

I have to say, I do love this Read More
White Wedding Cake with Succulents and Teal Trim
There is an easy beauty to this cake – it makes me think of an outdoor late spring or early summer wedding, maybe at a botanical garden, surrounded by bright colorful flowers. This cake would look amazing in a setting like that.
