Fun Wedding Favors – Flip Flop Luggage Tag

flip flop luggage tags

So you’re having a destination wedding. And it’s at the beach!

Which means your guests will be packing their bags and heading somewhere warm and tropical. And if they’re flying to the destination they’ll need a luggage tag.

Which brings us to today’s fun and functional wedding favor – the flip flop luggage tag!

Who wants a boring “standard issue” luggage tag? Not me. Give me something that will make my suitcase stand out in the sea of monochrome suitcases on that conveyor belt. Give me a bright colored flip flop luggage tag.

Your guests will love these luggage tags. They’re cute and fun and every time they travel they’ll remember the amazing time they had at your beach wedding. As an added bonus, the flip flop tags come in blue and pink, so you can mix and match the tags and the men won’t be stuck with a pink flip flop luggage tag, unless they want one!

You can find these super cute flip flop luggage tags here.

Starfish and Coral Wedding Cake

beach-themed-wedding-cake-09

With much of the country coming out of a very deep freeze, I think today is the perfect day to dream about a beach wedding.

And if you're planning a beach-themed wedding, you're going to need a cake that has a tropical vibe – just like this beautiful creation!

I love how this cake plays on the ocean theme with alternating layers of blue icing for the sea and sand colored icing. It really makes me want to head to a beach right this minute.

As pretty as this cake is, it's also beautifully simple and doesn't go too far in the decor department. Read More

Hiya and Happy Sunday!

We’re ready to get out there and show you what we found this week.  But before we get started, let’s take a look at the coolness we featured here on A Wedding Cake Blog.

beach white-wedding-cake

Happy Summer, Y’all!  Again!  And Happiest of Birthdays to my darling sister, Lisa, who makes age ___ look fabulous!

Well, between a myriad of playdates to plan, summer camp, visiting friends, and a beach crawl up the U.S. eastern coast (because I don’t get enough sand and sun in Florida, y’all), I’m a busy girl!  But I wouldn’t have it any other way, because it’s fun, gracious, SQUEEEEE! and catch up and hugs and Lilly Pulitzer-wearin’ busy.  Ya know?

So before I go for a workout to ensure I look good in all those bathing suits, I wanted to check in on y’all, and spend a little time looking Read More

Let Them Eat Cake: Sunday Round-Up for November 13, 2011

Black and White ruffle wedding cake

Happy…well…post 11.11.11!  Lame, I know.  But wasn’t that crazy?  I mean, we’ve had 1.1.1, 2.2.2, 3.3.3, etc, etc,…but people really went crazy for 11.11.11, didn’t they?  From movie premieres to weddings, it was crazy times this past Friday.  Heck, we’re just glad to be that much closer to Turkey Day around here.

Still, beyond that freak snowstorm that pummeled the Northeast, it’s turning out to be a lovely fall.  And as we’re making our lists and checking them twice, we thought we’d pause to see what’s going on in the world of wedding.  But before we get to all the lovely, Read More

Let Them Eat Cake: Sunday Round Up for September 18, 2011

Birch Tree Wedding Cake

Pardon me while I turn down the a/c so I can bake some pumpkin muffins.

Anyone else in a rush for fall to feel like, you know, fall?  Here in the extreme Southeast, we’ve learned to take our fall cues from things other than the rustle of leaves and the cooling of temperatures.  How do I know it’s fall?  Well…lovebugs come back for round two. (Or is it round three?)  Pumpkin patches start to pop up (and we have our pictures taken in folksy settings in our tanks and shorts and flip flops.)  It’s not as hot…in the evening.  Meaning that it dips below, you know, eighty.

So in this weird time, where the magazines are Read More
