Save Ten Percent on Personalized M&Ms!

m&m

Okay, so…m&ms are not the same thing as cake. I have not gone off my rocker. However, last spring I went to a wedding where the bride and groom gave out personalized m&ms as their wedding favor. Did it freak me out that I was chomping down on a candy coated shell with my friend’s face plastered on it? Absolutely not. Because..hello, they are m&ms, People. They melt in your mouth, not in your hand.

I thought it was an adorable way to send your guests home with a tasty treat. Rather than just throwing together coordinated wedding colors (pink and green per usual), you can also include pictures, sayings, and special dates. Of course, we all know these can work in a million different ways, not just for for weddings. Bridal Showers, Read More

Classic White Wedding Cake with Chocolate Scrollwork

Brown N Blue

Here is something I love. Taking a classic cake and giving it a little bit of pizazz! I love how this cake is a simple four tiered round cake with a gorgeous slate blue sash around the base of each tier. Beautiful and classic yes?

Oh wait:  let’s throw on a gorgeous dark brown (I’m assuming chocolate which… Read More

Pink Roses Wedding Cake

hot pink

I love pink roses. They are my second favorite flower…next to the gerbera daisy. I got married in October and when I met with my florist I said, “I want gerbera daisies,” and he said, “Change your wedding day and we have a deal!”

Apparently October is not the idea time for daisies. Who knew?

And so I settled for roses. I guess this really wasn’t so much settling as I do love roses as well. I told him I really didn’t care as long as they were pink. “What about hot pink?” he said. From that moment on my world was rocked and I was in love Read More

Prince William's Groom's Cake

So…I know that we’ve talked about it.  But we haven’t actually seen it.  Well, I hadn’t, anyway.

Bow Wedding Cake

McBryde-Dorion Wedding

It occurred to me that it has been awhile since I featured a straight up classic wedding cake that wasn’t consumed by dignitaries and former Spice Girls.  So today will be that day.

This lovely cake is a replica of a gift box.  This is the sort of gift that I like the receive..three tiers and completely edible.  In lieu of a topper, Read More

Handmade Bird Cake Toppers

handmade birdie

Happy May!

Birds are in right now.  Much to my dismay.  Those little buggers terrify the crap out of me.  The real ones, anyway…not the pretty ones that live on my gorgeous duvet cover.

I stumbled upon these handmade bird cake toppers and Read More

And the Oscar for “Best Cake Featured at a Wedding” Goes to..

kates cake

Fiona Cairns.

Duh.

Late Friday afternoon while I was still at work, my partner in crime all things Wedding Cake sends me a link with the picture of the most beautiful wedding cake I have ever seen.

The cake was eight tiers-tall, and Fiona Cairns and her team spent five weeks prepping for the event.  We already know the innards of the cake were traditional English fruit cake.  Seriously, I need to get to England and try some of this “fruit cake” because the only fruit cake I’ve ever had comes wrapped in red saran wrap at Christmastime and tastes like…well… Read More
